Where Maya’s information comes from
We base care information on published guidance from veterinary organizations, peer-reviewed research and product labels. We name the source so you can read it yourself, and we point out when two sources disagree. Product details come from the label or the maker’s own listing. If guidance has been updated, we say which version we used.
Labels on comparisons and personal use
If a piece compares harnesses, muzzles or calming products using the makers’ published specs, it tells you that. Maya writes about first-hand use only where the article describes the writer’s own use of the item. A product we haven’t used is described from its label and listing.
This site doesn’t replace your vet
Nothing on Dog Mom Tips replaces advice from your veterinarian or another qualified professional who has examined your dog. Our visit checklists exist to help you ask clearer questions in the exam room. Your vet makes the call on care.
Fixing mistakes
Maya rereads published pages and puts errors right when they’re found. The corrected page lists what changed together with the date of the update.
